1-3-2-6 Staking System
Overview
A positive progression system where stakes follow the sequence 1, 3, 2, 6 units. Reset to 1 unit after any loss or completing the sequence. The idea is to capitalize on winning streaks while risking only your initial unit.
How It Works
The sequence represents multiples of your base unit:
| Step | Stake (units) | If Win | If Lose |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | Profit: +1 unit → next step | Loss: −1 unit → reset |
| 2 | 3 | Profit: +3 → total +4 → next step | Loss: −3 → net −2 → reset |
| 3 | 2 | Profit: +2 → total +6 → next step | Loss: −2 → net +2 → reset |
| 4 | 6 | Profit: +6 → total +12 → reset | Loss: −6 → net 0 → reset |
Key insight: You only risk your initial 1 unit. After step 1 wins, the system’s profits fund the remaining stakes. Maximum downside is 2 units (lose at step 2). Maximum upside is 12 units (complete the full sequence).

Risk Assessment
- Risk Level: Medium
- Max Drawdown: 2 units per cycle (lose at step 2 after winning step 1)
- Recommended Bankroll: 20+ units
- Ruin Risk: Low — stakes are capped at 6 units and only escalate after wins
When to Use
- You want to ride winning streaks without chasing losses
- Your selections occasionally hit 2–4 consecutive wins
- You prefer a disciplined, mechanical approach
When to Avoid
- Very low strike-rate systems — you’ll rarely progress past step 1–2
- You want to maximize every winning bet (you sometimes “give back” profits, e.g., step 4 loss = net zero)
Similar Systems
| System | Sequence | Max Risk |
|---|---|---|
| 1-3-2-6 | 1, 3, 2, 6 | 2 units |
| 1-3-2-4 | 1, 3, 2, 4 | 2 units |
| Paroli | Double after each win (3 steps) | 1 unit |
Betfair Exchange Notes
- Works for both back and lay betting
- For lay betting, define “unit” as your target profit (not liability), so the sequence controls how much you aim to win per bet
- Commission reduces net profit from the 12-unit max — at 5% commission, max net ≈ 11.4 units
